Huckerby
It's pretty simple really. Sure, it's not helpful harking back to the past - but given I'm sure he'd have had at least another year in him at this level, and that I can't help thinking back to his purple patch between around January and March '07, when I wondered where on earth we'd be without him (answer: in the bottom three probably), releasing him was a very big decision. If we go on to thrive without him, all well and good - but if we don't, people will have a right to second guess Roeder over it.
Most decisions in life can only be assessed in hindsight - and that's all that'll happen here too. But the guy wanted to stay, and Roeder wanted to let him go: making it incumbent on the manager to find the right attacking replacements. And whether we have or will, only time will tell.
