A Few NCFC Thoughts After A Good Sleep!

Some good points have been made in the last twelve hours or so.

It was all getting a bit hysterical last night on here, as, once again, Norwich fans, all with the same goal and passion for their team were squabbling and having a go at one another. I know I am a sad old hippy but its never nice when that happens and means that things are pretty rotten-again-in the kingdom of Carrow Road.

People have brought Hucks into the equation. Would he have made a difference last night? Don't know. Would like to think so, but also suspect he would have been heavily marked and pretty ineffective. If he was still here (I know, if my Granny had balls etc) then we wouldn't have got Wes, and he'd be somewhere else, the same people lamenting Hucks' departure now would have been up in arms about why we hadn't made a bid for him, so....

Its so true about no goals coming from midfield. Hopefully Bell will help put an end to that drought. We can't get him fit quick enough and he is as crucial now, IMHO, as this mythical targetman who I think is a million miles away from joining us still. No-one has popped up from midfield to score since Francis, we ahve never replaced him and the player I thought might do that jog, Russell, isn't, it seems, as far as the Manager is concerned, the answer-though it seems he came closest to scoring last night.

We seem to have got a team of good footballers, players who pass and move and do things in a very watered down Arsenal way. Stoke got their way out of this division last season with a team of giants, big, strong and physical players, their team often won simply by being bigger, faster and stronger than the opposition. We aren't no Stoke. West Brom, on the other hand, got out by playing football, but, man for man, is our squad this season as good as theirs last season?

And yes, they had Kevin Phillips.

If we lose on Saturday, although many will still appeal for patience, I can see things turning a tad ugly. Crazy for August, but thats football, fast food sport, today.
