If the cup is pointless then so is the league

Form and common sense says we stand no chance of winning the league or cups but football is about having a dream and striving to do the best you can.

We stand more chance of winning a cup than the league yet people are happy to just toss them aside and claim getting knocked out helps us in the league.

When I was a kid I dreamed of scoring a winning goal in the FA Cup final, not scoring an equaliser in an away game at Scunthorpe.

It might be OK for Man Utd or Arsenal to field weakened teams in the domestic cups but they have Championships and European Cups to fight over.

The League Cup is our chance for a little glory. Anyone who says the cups don't matter has no love for the game.
