We go from 1 down to 2 down far to quickly at the moment.
Its englands biggest failings I fear, as any decent start turns into a mini slump just like that.

KP (i'm too lazy to type full name, and anyway I'll probably spell it worng) comes in under pressure, gets wound up, and suddenly there's a large barrel pointed firmly at the dressing room for england to start down.

1st innings highlighted that. Was an average opening stand, nothing great, but had MV got a 40/50 partnership with cook things would have been a lot easier for the guys coming in at 4 and onwards.
