oh i agree completely

the majority of Catholics in NI would simply have been happy with equal and fair treatment but the loyalist were afraid that if they granted equal rights and it was proven that protestants and catholics could live side by side it would lead to an errosion of their power and then possibly negate the reason for there to be a Northern Ireland at all

though obviously if the Brits had never, ever invaded and settled Ireland at all... :-)
