don't think we have much choice

it sounds boring to say so but it is actually true that not many deals get done early these days. There has been very little transfer activity. Players/agents/selling teams all want to hold on as long as possible in the hope of getting better terms.

It is better to get the right players late than the wrong players early.

Leicester bought loads of players in early last summer and did the same when the transfer window opened in January but it didn't do them much good because it turned out the the players weren't right.
