Confirmation of Francis move in TheSun - 10am Signing

DAMIEN FRANCIS will be confirmed as promoted Wigan?s fifth summer signing today after the on- off deal was resurrected.

The Norwich midfielder?s ?1.5million move to the JJB Stadium appeared doomed after talks stalled on a three-year deal.

But agent Tony Finnegan last night revealed Francis, 26, will join the Premiership new boys in time for tomorrow?s friendly with Boavista.

He said: ?Damien will sign for Wigan at 10am on Friday. There was a hitch but it has been resolved.?

Francis follows Pascal Chimbonda, Ryan Taylor, Stephane Henchoz and Mike Pollitt to the Latics since their May promotion.

Boss Paul Jewell is still after a striker and defender before Wigan?s August 14 opener at home to champions Chelsea.
