Both are clearly better batsmen than Ambrose

Freddie historically, and Broad - if not now - then definitely in time.

The decision to bat Ambrose at six is curious. Why be so obsessed with protecting Freddie by adopting some kind of curious 'Fredwatchman' policy with a less experienced player, worried about his place in the side and struggling for runs?

Flintoff may not be in the best of form himself - but at least he's been there. Hard on Ambrose that and i'd be amazed if they bat him six again.
