Born in Melbourne, Robson moved from Australia at 18 months with her father Andrew, a Shell executive, and mother, a former professional basketball player. She has an older brother Nicholas, 16, who is a professional swimmer, and an elder sister Emily, 23.

The family spent four years in Singapore before arriving in the UK when Robson was six and settled in Wimbledon, five minutes walk from the All England Club. She spends four months of the year abroad training and is tutored at home so she does not miss out on schooling. She is taking her Maths and English GCSEs a year early.
