Rangers - got lucky. Benefitted from the fact that the English clubs were banned from Europe, and the logical destination for English players who wanted to play in Europe but didn't want to leave Britain was Rangers. Aberdeen were on the slide after Ferguson left and Celtic were in transition. Like Gullit or Vialli, his success was down to the fact that he was able to get his mates in.

Liverpool - won the FA Cup in 1992. Soccerbase says they played Crewe, Bristol Rovers, the Scum, Aston Villa, Pompey and Sunderland. So ONE top-flight team, who were s**t at the time. Otherwise, signed lots of s**t players and left a mess that took about 5 years to sort out.

Galatasaray - won the Turkish Cup (not the League) and started a riot in the process. Imbecile.

Southampton - signed George Weah's cousin. And Richard Dryden. Left after one s**t season.

Benfica - crap. Just crap.

Torino - like Benfica. But worse.

Blackburn - only an incompetent manager (like Brian Kidd) would have failed to get them up. Did win the League Cup, but then fell out with all his players, and replaced them with violent, slow, old s**tbags. Would have taken them down if he'd stayed.

Newcastle - completely inept.

Sorry to go on but Souness is the worst manager in the Prem. He's worse than Alan Pardew. And Alan Pardew is proper toss.
