TOTTENHAM fan Saul Weitzman sat in the splendour of the White Hart Lane directors' box for the recent match against West Bromwich with a ?30 ticket bought from a tout outside the ground.

For his ?30 Weitzman, a 27-year-old independent financial adviser, was also entitled to a meal in a VIP Suite - an offer he did not take up.

He was allowed in among the "suits" including Sir Alan Sugar, even though he stood out like a sore thumb wearing jeans, denim jacket and a baseball cap.

The former season-ticket holder said: "When I first approached the tout he was asking ?70 for the ticket.

"All the club had on sale were seats with a restricted view, which I was not prepared to pay for. So I went back to him and offered ?30.

"There was obviously no price on the ticket, and how the tout got hold of it I'll never know. I don't care, either, because all I wanted to do was watch my team. I sat in the back row, next seat but one to red-hot Albion fan, Frank Skinner.

"He asked me how I got in wearing jeans. I think he was gutted he had to wear a suit."

Spurs were stunned by the revelation that a ticket for the most privileged part of the stadium ended up on the black market and have promised a full enquiry.
