I've got this idea for a couple of stories.

The first is where this little guy goes trucking through the countryside having adventures and stuff with elves and dragons and dwarves and nicks this quite important artifact.

The follow up will be set a few years later when a younger relative of his has to go off again with the same artifact with a view to getting rid of it somehow.
