Asking for money
Hi all,
I'm a long time member but tend to lurk rather than post. I hope you don't mind me asking for a donation to the walk I am doing for Leukaemia Research with Ian Botham.
I was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia) in February this year and at 32 it came as a bit of a shock (an understatement). My excellent treatment continues at Worcester Royal and I take a Glivec tablet every day - the tablet provides excellent results in the majority of people it treats resulting in normal life expectancy (this is something I like to hear). Without funding a treatment like this wouldn't exist and I'd be facing up to a rather more aggressive form of treatment.
Fundraising does work! Although I still have a long journey in front of me I'm fit, I'm well and working hard full-time. Many adults and children are not so lucky and more money is needed for critical research and support, so please donate and help me hit a magic Grand!
