Can't they just fill the breaches with fat people?

Some geezer called George Webb made his fortune in Cambridge in the '47 floods by driving his lorries loaded with sandbags into the breaks in the Old Bedford banks. Got compo from the Gov for his lorries (which were old, knackered ex-army ones that cost next to nowt) and bought a fleet of brand new ones to start his haulage company.
