Are you sure that's not a factor in the pubs shutting? More than coincidence I think.

I'm joking of course, but seems to me that there's just as much correlation between IED moving into the area as the smoking ban.

One thing about the smoking ban - a lot of pubs whiff of body odour these days. Maybe the badly ventilated ones have shut down?
