God to stand down
God has announced that he is to stand down as Head of Everything following England's failure to qualify 2008 and Alex's unexpected defeat in the Apprentice.
Spokesman David Ike revealed that the religious supremo will preside over one more Christmas before stepping aside in order to spend more time with his family.
Ladbrokes have installed Cliff Richard as the most likely candidate to take over with TV Chef Gary Rhodes also in the running.
Analysts predict that his successor is likely to conduct a 'root and branch' review of the organisation which was founded just over two thousand years ago.
