But it has to be by application to the Court. The chances are that the title register at the Land Registry (assuming that it is registered land, which it almost certainly is) will say something like "No disposition by a sole proprietor of the registered estate (except a trust corporation) under which capital money arises is to be registered unless authorised by an order of the court". This means what it says.

Do I take it that you do not have any form of trust deed regulating your relationship with your fellow tenant?

Are there children or former partners involved? That's a whole different bag.
