based on "holiday dives" can "guess" what happened....

i bet only the guide had a dsmb.... i bet he was NEVER going to deploy it TILL he was surfacing!

happened to me on a drift dive in ras mohammed inthe red sea.... the whole group got caught in a strong current and drifted about a mile further than first thought. The german dive master and guide never deployed his dsmb till near the end of the dive, on the accent........by then the boat couldnt see us and we were left bobbling around in the water for over an hour, whilst sharks circled below.......more worrying was the size 8 girly diving with us, who started to get cold, shiver and was suffering hyperthermia!

today, i always carry my own dsmb and on a drift dive deply it as soon as i've decended, so the boat can follow us!
