I think.......

you were quite within your rights to stay - as i also agree "first come first serve"

IF they see a fishing boat and decide to dive, thats up to them (thats why we carry line cutters and knives for linament and fishing line - especially on wrecks)

to be sure I will post your question on the divers forum......
