Just watched "En un momento dado" - the story of Cruyff and Barcelona...

apparenty Jordi Cruijff had to be born by Caesarian and was scheduled for 14th Jan 1974, the day before a massive Ajax game against Real Madrid. Rinus Michels, manager of Ajax, convinced the doctors to bring the birth forward to Jan 9th so he could play. They won 5-0. Incredible. Maybe another 5 days in the womb and he'd have been a good footballer ;-)

Any other stories of momentusly bad prioritisations in sport ?
