Yep agreed.

The normal formulafor such a film is suggest something early on, bit of adventure in the middle, then that 'something' turns out to be something else. Result - happy audience.

This was Suggest something early on, that 'something' then actually really happens. And that's before you even get onto the surreality of it all. Disappointing.
