You either get
1) Good bloke thrashes not so good bloke
2) Good bloke v good bloke on grass/hard courts = two blokes hitting the ball about hard as possible but not much more
3) Good bloke v good bloke on clay = interminably long hitting the ball to one another
Hence pony.
