they'd be stupid to sell him. They don't need the money and his value is only likely to go up in the next couple of years. By sending him on loan they increase the value of their investment (assuming he scores goals), while somebody else is paying his wages.

Can't believe anybody really thought we had a chance of signing him permanently. Even if they decided to sell there's no way we could win the ensuing bidding war. He's got to be worth £2-3m.
