Gamble on his part too, remember
All it takes is an injury or loss of form, and he could find himself out of a contract and unwanted in a year's time.
Non-negliglble chance he'll find himself in League 1 / back in Switzerland or somewhere.
(After all - the club have been criticised in the past for offering contracts that are too long, and leaving us lumbered with players we don't want. And Fotheringham hasn't been *that* good, has he?)
