It's just a cop out claiming to be depressed after you've made a mockery of yourself. It's just passing the blame onto something medical to justify your behaviour

He gives clinical depressing a really bad name. And in life, we've all been depressed at some point, but it's never an excuse for your behaviour. So no, it's not hypocrisy, because all Prescott did was admit to something he's had all his life and people laughed at him for it.
