Evans poem: I've tried to get the sprit of IED in this one:
Two sleek women kept me away from the man
Whose name - but not face - is now known
And I very much liked what I saw.
Genial, secretive, spread across 63 countries
A Dr Who, Davros-style, brain in a box.
His own history showed three things to me:
The passion - to deliver the much craved-for
Wizardry and international daring-do,
How I chortled.
Our style and stance hadn't caused offence.
He sucks it in and swoops on it big time
And back to that subtle point.
He won't take any prisoners as he drives
And he has done that with dozens of people
Since the day he took the helm of
The dynamic businessman of mystery
Marcus Evans, it is clear to me, has been bitten
How I chortled.
Simple as that. Funny, no one else had asked...
He continued preparing for another crack.
He wants to do this in double-quick time
After weeks of patience and dogged digging
Good humour places him happily among the bright young things
And so I came to a high-octane world,
A Christmas card by special delivery,
Soon he delivers the golden ticket,
Everywhere... forever.
How I chortled.
