No, you're right that is fair. It's also a cultural thing.

The whole Asian mentality is towards loyalty, and player support first (qv Japanese schoolgirls when Beckhams is over there).

Thus, I can forgive the player obsessions. And, as a result, I can just about forgive the tactical 'advice', as he doesn't grasp the concept of the team game as well as us.
