I don't wish to sound dis-respectful re Huckerby but...

It is alarming to think that so many supporters still somehow regard him as the panacea to all of the club's problems.

He has admittedly been the best we have had to offer for a number of seasons, but surely that in itself is cause for concern, given his age and that he is latterly prone to injury having openly admitted over the last few seasons, that he doesn't have a awful lot left in the tank.

Please don't tell me that there isn't a youngster somewhere out there, ready to take over his mantle and become the fans' 'Hucks' of the future.

Keeping him on, would have been extremely short-termist in my humble opinion and considering the dire situation when Roeder came in, there is at least some momentum in terms of where the club is going. He is a shrewd man and must have known the risks associated with this particular decision. I for one, see that as the sign of a strong manager.

We may not own many players of note, but hey...have a look around your offices, shops, businesses and ask yourselves how many staff are actually permanent. Indeed, is it appropriate that those who are, will continue be paid whether they succeed or not?

From being several points adrift on his arrival he produced results which (taken in isolation) would have seen us in a play-off position at the end of the season.

Lets give the manager and players maximum support and see what transpires.
