It's Roeder's philosophy on young players, intut.
He reckons, I remember reading somewhere, that when you have a promising youngster at say 16, 17, 18, if they're still a promising youngster at 21, 21, 22, rather than a young first team player (like Chedders, f'r'instance) then they're never going to make it.
