5,500 whole chickens A DAY??

Jesus, some high figures in this.
How do we throw away that many whole chickens a day though?
Its not like they are something that can get shifted to the back of the shelf by accident, only to be re-discovered years later when moving house along with half a dozen tins of chopped tomatoes.

Do people forget they've got them or what?
