Given where it is, it'll probably be Home Fans Only.

You mention pubs in the City - don't forget Hillsborough is a few miles north of the City centre. If you do want a Wetherspoons in the City centre, the Banker's Draft is right on the Tram line (handy for the tram up to the ground), and I'd bet it'll open early. Just as long as you step over the tramps on the door step and don't mention the faint smell of meths in the bar.
