If you want to play online go for the box.

If you are mainly a single player, buy 1 game, complete it, move on type gamer stick with the PS3.

I'm having similar thoughts myself. Will be getting one or t'other after my honeymoon.
GOt a couple of mates on Live which tempts me, but then I got that for the last box and didn't use it much.
Once i'd 'done' a game i tended to go back to the PC rather than into live.

For my PS2 I think I only bought 5 games, 3 of which were the GTA titles (actually 6, i got liberty city stories too!).
My box was chipped, so had a few games copied for that, but again bought little other than KOTOR and Halo titles.
For that reason i'm going to go for PS3, just feels more me.
