A couple of thoughts from yesterday

The game turned on the sending off, but who remembers that save that Marshall made just before – it was a low shot from the left.

It looked goal-bound to me, he got down low to his left, saved it, and didn’t spill the ball. A few seconds later the ball is down the other end, Ched is on the floor, QPR are down to ten men and completely disorganised.

City go one up against ten, as opposed to one down against eleven. Season saved.

Thanks also to the QPR manager who decided on a 4-3-2 formation which gave our midfield the run of the pitch. It was the hottest Saturday for ages, and he condemns his midfield to an afternoon of chasing the ball, after making two subs soon after we scored. Bizarre. This generosity even gave Gibbs the chance to look like a championship player, with some nice touches, he still doesn’t look up to it yet.

We bumped into Manny Richardson on the way home (he was the youth team player featured in the program), and had a chat with him. Seems like a nice lad. My parting words of advice to him were not to end up like Chris Martin.

Looking forward to a day out next week with no pressure on City to get a result, and a stress free week preceeding the game.
