Apols.
1) Rimini - it was mid-October and closed for the season. Was only there for one night as it was the night of San Marino v Scotland and the place was over-run by Jocks. Seemed a nice enough town. Beach front is long, sandy and full of hotels, like you'd expect from a continental beach resort really.
2) No really, you get used to it quite quickly. Just like driving on the opposite side of the road. Quite difficult to screw up.
