I suggested similar last night, but with different motives.

I suggested, to my missus, not yours, that she'd made it up to get the kid away from the creepy looking step-dad (now also before the beak on kiddie porn charges).

I also suggested that if she did stage the whole thing, and deceived all those people on that rough estate, that the natives won't take too well to being deceived en masse like that, and there might well be trouble ahead.
