Lynn were about to play a 4th qualifying round FA Cup tie at home. They were expecting a 2000+ crowd at a time when they were in bad financial trouble.
It turned out that one of the players had played a pre-season 5-a-side competition and been sent off. He hadn't told the club.
The result? The FA accepted they couldn't have known about it and threw them out anyway.
