Make sure you're using WPA as its more secure than WEP

You can also setup a wireless access list which specifies which MAC addresses are allowed to connect.

I'd also recommend changing the default network name and admin login details. If someone seeing a wireless network called NETGEAR it doesn't take much to find the default login details and hack into the router.
