FAO: Berlin Canary, and anyone else who can help... AVG installs its own toolbar...
Packaged as a 'security toolbar' - but it also installs a Yahoo! search toolbar, with no option to remove it.
Google freezes pretty much every time, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few searches. In both IE7 and Firefox (although Firefox 'lasted' considerably longer - to the point where i thought it had solved the problem)
Tried accessing Google in various ways:
Through Google Toolbar
Through Google toolbar on IE7 standard search toolbar
Through typing google.co.uk
Through my iGoogle account.
All with the same result. Doesn't matter what you are searching for either. It either freezes at entering search parameters in the search window on the toolbar, or when clicking a link as a result of the search.
Searching through the AVG / Yahoo! method works fine, but I don't like Yahoo!...
It must be something to do with AVG 8.0, but i'm reluctant to uninstall, as apart from this the software is Tip Top Tommy.
