I find the whole thing rather hilarious, actually

At the risk of sounding like Himmers, I have always thought that Steve Bennett is a half-decent referee. He told Torres to get on with it twice and it's hard to see exactly what Torres says as he turns away, but it is very obviously rude and to the point; enough so that Bennett books him.

Mascherano piles in from 20 yards away, and while his first words may have been "What was that for?" the rest very definitely aren't. Again, Bennett tells him to get lost and when Mascherano ignores the warning and keeps ranting he gets the yellow out again. Not Bennett's fault that the guy is a retard.

Oh, and as for the FA's ridiculous proposal to toughen up on dissent at "grass roots" level - if I told a referee to f**k off or called him a c**t like Mascherano did on numerous occasions during that game, I'd be getting an early shower before you could blink. And rightly so.

I for one hope other referees follow Bennett's example. One Mr Terry is going to have to learn to control his lip, for starters.
