Rooney Is A Brilliant All Round Player

No question.

If he was the "out and out" goalscorer that people seem to expect of him, he wouldn't offer half as much to his team. Ferguson felt he needed to sell Van Nistleroy as he was just the sort of player that Rooney isn't (ie) got loads of goals but did little else. Now of course, you do have the argument that its great to have a player in the team that does that, and we had it with Earnie in spades-yet did that give us anything in terms of success, well-no, other than not going down last season.

Maybe Derby have demanded more of him this season and he is struggling because of that? He has said he has "improved" since he went there, I suspect though, if he moves, he'll soon be saying that his new team (odds on is Cardiff) want him "just to score goals"-and he will.

Rooney is exceptional, he needs to keep his mouth shut a bit more, but, when he plays, he reminds me of the kid in the school playground, wants the ball all the time and wants to be everywhere on the pitch.
