my parents are Irish too
as are most of my extended family
i've always like the fact that my cousins and various uncles (for there is a lot of them) will often give up drinking for Lent - except St. Patrick's day when they allow themselves a day off
i wonder if i'll have a bunch (probably not the right word) of real shamrock(s?) waiting for me when i get home...
