Just back from the Ricoh

Terrible selection today from Roeder. The 4-5-1 with Dublin the 1 was doomed from the start, with DD not mobile enough to play that role, and none of the three central midfielders either supporting him or working out what each of them were doing. It was a shambles.

Velasco – the difference between Tuesday at Watford and today was that Cov worked him out from the first minute and their left winger could finish, unlike Jobi Macanuff. He looked well off the pace. Don’t know why Semi wasn’t even in the 16.

Roeder partially redeemed his selection by tugging Velasco for Pearce, but the Doc struggled at right back and was booked for a rugby tackle, from the card happy ref whose decisions were a little random to say the least. Jamie came on for the unlucky Mo and things were looking much better. Bertrand went to LB and didn’t have play at all well again. We’d made two tactical subs in the first half hour – don’t think I’ve ever seen that.

Second half Judas made a fab save from Jamie and the Doc was very harshly sent off for a tackle that was no more than clumsy. We’d been much better in the second half up to them. Rusty went to RB. Ched came on for Crofty surprisingly, he didn’t seem to be injured.

Marshall made a few brill saves to keep us in it, and then Russell got sent off for sliding in after he’d been held back by the Cov player (from what I saw). His first booking looked unlucky, as well.

We ended up with 9 in a sort of 3-2-3 formation and nearly nicked one at the end.

Memo to Glenn Roeder – stop tinkering with team – it really f**ked us up today, and its cost us two key players for the Stoke game.

City MoM – Marshall.

Away support 1500 ish
