We used to go to a camp site in Thetford Forest where they had

a big tent field and loads woodland pitches as well - Dad would never let us pitch in the woodland bit, 'cos of all the s**t that drops out of the trees onto your tent.

Are you sure they let you do fires in the woodland bit? It might only be in the field, in case you set a tree afire.
