From Canary Nooooze
Glenn Roeder has been linked with an emergency loan move for the young
6'4" Newcastle striker, although several clubs are apparently
interested, including Ipswich.
Carroll, who is still only 19, was given his first team debut at
Newcastle at the age of 17 by Roeder in a UEFA Cup tie against Palermo
in 2006, so the City manager is fully aware of his abilities.
He has made just two appearances for Newcastle this season, both
against Stoke in the FA Cup - replacing Mark Viduka as a late sub on
each occasion.
In a loan spell at Preston earlier this season he only managed to hit
the net once in seven starts (eleven appearances), which puts him on
par with Chris Brown! MLS
Andrew Carroll
