Even though its not stated, I think when GR takes some of these young players on loan he promises they will see heavy first team action as part of the loan agreements.
Thats why he has played loan players like J Smith and Ryan Bertrand outside their normal positions just so they see first team action.

Make no mistake, these players came to play not act as cover.
