A serious post about the playoffs
Most of the play off chat on here is completely polarised so I decided to have a proper look....
By my reckoning there are two seasons in recent history where we have had very strong finishes to the season: 81-82 and 03-04, both promotion seasons from this division. In both seasons we managed to win 13 of our last 17 games, i.e. 39 points (ignoring draws)
So, if we were to replicate that form this season we would end up with 74 point. 74 points has been enough to secure a place in the playoffs in 5 of the last 10 seasons.
In other words, the playoffs ARE a slim possibility but we need to play as well as we ever have. Plus we might be screwed as most of the loaned kids might not still be around!
