I have a Epiphone SG. I love it to bits, but the action is on the high side.
But I learnt on acoustics with a high action for years and years before picking up a decent electric, so even the highish action of my SG feels lovely.
If you learn on electric guitars with a really low action it can give you lousy technique on an acoustic. Not that my technique is particularly better then "lousy" but there you go.
