I was done for that many years ago...

...I was visiting my then girlfriend and they came knocking at the door enquiring about the previous tenants...I helpfully explained that they'd moved out and she'd moved in...they took my details as proof that they'd visited and then the bastards took me to court!

Upshot was that I had to cough up...most unjust I thought at the time...
