Yes but (while I don't agree with it) was because he was done

for manslaughter, not murder.

Incidentally, the father of a friend of mine was beaten to death by 3 marines on Magdalen Street. They started on his son, he stood in to protect him and then they killed him (his son was also put in hospital).

They got away with no punishment because the father had thrown a punch before he had been attacked himself (his son was though) and they couldn't prove that this first punch (deemed to be in self defence) didn't kill him.

He was 6'6" and a former Paratrooper.
