story 'Gunn tips Marshall for honours' seems to me to be a desperate attempt to fill space with some 'good news'.

'What can we give the punters in the light of our failure to sign anybody while lots of other clubs are making signings? Oh, let's tell our fans that our former hospitality manager who has had to find his now 3 sizes too small tracksuit again thinks our keeper is really good. That should do the trick!'

Sometimes it's really hard to be a City fan isn't it? (Like at Bury!) Every week we get one of the best (if not the best) crowd in the league, we get told we're a 'Premier League' outfit (but we just can't quite manage to sign anybody) and then we get treated like muppets by tose who run the media department
